Now that winter is upon us, most of us are preparing our winter skin routine. For me the main difference between my summer and winter routines is extra moisture. During the colder months I always feel that my skin needs a little extra boost of moisture.
Moisture is one of the most important factors for radiant and youthful skin. This is why we always hear dermatologists and anti aging experts telling us to drink water. If your skin is dehydrated, not only will it appear dull, it will also look aged.
Apart from making sure I am drinking extra water in the winter months, I also like to add a little magic serum to my skin routine. I have found that the Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Capsules are a great way to boost my skin's hydration without causing excess oiliness or shine. The best part is that they can be used all over, not just on your face. Yes, you are reading correctly! These little capsules contain a great formula that basically adds moisture and softness to any part of your body.
Let’s start by understanding what exactly ceramide is. Ceramides are lipids, or naturals fats, that are found within your epidermal layer. Over half of the epidermis is made of ceramides. They play an integral role in anti aging! Ceramide assure that your skin maintains its natural moisture and elasticity. They maintain your skin's natural smoothness, glow and help to prevent fine lines.
As we age, we start to loose the amount of ceramides within our epidermis. This causes dullness of skin, rough spots and lines to start to show. Cermides are fundamental for healthy and youthful skin.
Now that you better understand the what and why to ceramides, lets get to the how to!
Lets start with the face and neck. I like to apply the Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Capsules to my face and neck at night. I think of it as an extra boost of moisture for my skin. The ceramide is like a serum; therefore apply after cleansing and before your night moisturizer. I also like to use these capsules as a cuticle moisturizer. I love how it feels on my hands and nails. It helps to prevent dry cuticles and easily absorbs into my skin.
However these are not the only uses! I also like to take them on trips and use them as my all over moisturizer. They are easy to pack, can go into your carry on and are a no mess solution to brining your must have skin lotion. They can be used on your feet as well. You can massage the ceramide into your cuticles and feet and then sleep with socks for an overnight foot mask. Lastly, I also like t use them on my hair. Ceramides help to add sine and softness to your style.
there are so many uses for these amazing capsules! Think of them as your go to for al over beauty.
